The Chicago Art Center is located on the Dan Ryan Expressway, between Cominskey Park Stadium and the Illinois Institute of Technology. Housing art and large sculpture exhibitions, as well as Center-related activities (such as classes and other events), the project also includes parking and a Quick Trip Gas Station on both off-ramps of the highway exit. The concept of the Center is to create an urbane moment within an existing expressway and to transform a drive-by experience into a cultural event.
